Although we insure the buildings we own, you will be responsible for insuring the contents in your home. We do not provide insurance protection for the furniture, belongings and other personal items in your home against theft, fire, vandalism, burst pipes and other household risks. In order to protect your items you need to ensure you take out contents insurance.
The My Home contents insurance scheme is a special insurance scheme provided by the National Housing Federation in conjunction with Thistle Tenant Risks and Allianz Insurance plc and is available for all tenants and residents living in social and affordable housing. For more information about the scheme you can call them on 0345 450 7288, email; MyHome@thistleinsurance.co.uk or visit; www.thistlemyhome.co.uk/contact.aspx
If you are a leaseholder or a shared ownership resident we will provide you with a 'Summary of Cover' annually (usually after the 1st March each year). This provides a summary of the significant features, benefits and limitations of the cover provided.
