Understanding Service Charges

A service charge is a payment made by a tenant, leaseholder or freeholder towards the cost of providing and maintaining services provided for you beyond the benefit of enjoying occupation of your home. Service charges include day to day services that are provided to a building, such as cleaning, door entry systems and communal electricity, but may also include the recovery of costs for major works. 

Generally, services are allocated to blocks of properties. Your contribution is calculated by apportioning the costs over the total number of properties in your block. 

We aim to provide a value for money service that reflects the needs of our residents, we will therefore regularly consult with you and review the services that we provide in your area.
